DEPOSITS AND SERVICE CHARGES
New customers must call or visit our office to arrange for water service
connection. Renters not having water service with our water system before will be required to pay a
$50.00 deposit and homeowners a $25.00 deposit. The security deposit is refundable after twelve
months of consecutive timely payments. All customers are required to pay a $25.00 service charge
anytime water is connected.

TAP FEE - If you are building or buying a home that does not have a water tap, you may purchase a
water tap. A%" water tap-in-fee is $1,000.00. We are required to retain a copy of your sewage permit,
with a signature of the sewage enforcement officer. Additional cost may occur due to road crossings for
state and township roads depending upon which side our main water line is located on, so please be
sure to talk to our plant manager for additional information. The service line from the tap into the home
is your responsibility.

BILLING
-The water meters are read electronically the middle of each month. We do not estimate the
meter readings unless it is necessary. After meters are read, a bill is mailed to you the first of the
following month. (Example: In the month of March, the meters are read. This is for the water used from
the middle of Feb. to the middle of Mar. You will receive the bill for that water use on April 15th
). Our
terms require the payment in full by the 15th of that month. You may pay your bill at the office (no cash
accepted), mail your remittance, call the office to pay over the phone, or pay on line at
www.eastdunkardwater.com. If you are mailing your water bill it must be received on or before the 15th
or you will be assessed the late charge for that bill. The late fee is 10%.

Any account not paid in full by the 25th of the same month will have their water disconnected on the 26th
of that month. If your water service is terminated, it will not be restored until the outstanding bill and a
$50.00 non-refundable reconnection fee has been paid in full at the office or on our website. Once the
men are dispatched to terminate your water service, the $50.00 reconnect fee is automatically added
onto the bill whether the water is terminated or left on. No money can be accepted in the field.

WATER RATES- The minimum water bill is $36.10. The rate is $21.10 for 0 through 2,000 gallons of
water and a $5.00 meter fee and a $10.00 debt service charge is added in addition to the $21.10.
Consumption after the 2,000 gallons is billed at a rate of $1.05 per hundred gallons thereafter.

DISCONNECTING WATER SERVICE - If you are moving from your residence or want your water
discontinued for any reason, please call or stop at our office to inform us and we will disconnect your
service. We will send you a final bill from your final reading. If you move, and do not inform us, a family
would move in, and would be using water billed to you. We would not know the difference - we will be
billing your for their water consumption. It is important for you to let us know when you move.

EMERGENCIES- Know where your main water shut-off valve is located. Leaks beyond the meter are the
responsibility of the customer for both repair and water loss.

MAIN WATER LINE BREAKS- We make every effort to insure a continual supply of water, but main
water line breaks do occur. If you lose water service, be assured we are making every effort to correct
the problem. To report water loss, please call the office phone. A telephone number will be available on
our answering machine to report an after hours emergency. After hours telephone number is also
posted on the open/close sign on the office window. If we have a major system problem, we have a
company (Swiftreach) that will notify you via the telephone that you provided us, with a brief message
of the problem .
